Trick or Treat Town
North Washington Fire District built a Trick or Treat Town inside one of the fire truck garage bay’s at Station 31, fire station.  The town was designed, created, painted and constructed by the Fire District’s fire staff and crews.  The town was made possible by donations from local businesses.

Trick or Treat Town is open the public free of charge for Trick or Treating on Halloween, October 31, for children accompanied by an adult.  The town has a wheelchair/stroller accessible pathway and has 19 storefronts where candy is handed out from.  More than 5,500 flyers were printed and delivered to the elementary schools in the district to pass out to children in the community, last year.  More than 1,200 children and adults visited Trick or Treat Town in 2010.

Halloween 2011 will be the third year the Fire District plans to provide this to the community, for a fun yet safe and warm place for children to have the opportunity to enjoy the fall holiday.

North Washington Fire Protection District has a Child Passenger Safety Program for its citizens.

It consists of certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians that are on duty everyday. The Technicians will educate the child’s responsible party on best fit and best practice of their child seat. They will also check an up to date database for recalls on the child seat.

Our goal is to educate the child’s parents or care giver on proper child passenger safety and give them the knowledge to correctly secure their child in a vehicle.

To schedule an installation and inspection please fill out the form below and a Car Seat Technician will be in touch with you.

If you need a inspection or installation the same day please call 303.539.6800. Please keep in mind our techs are full time firefighters and may not be able to do this the same day. We will do our best to try and accommodate your needs.

The Fire Department provides Safety Information to the public through School events as well as tours of stations for different groups as well as individual persons or families. We will also provide Engine and Ambulance tours at the Stations as well as different locations or events.

Just to name a few events that we have helped provide safety information for and have partnered with Law Enforcement are National Night Out gatherings School safety talks and presentations, Church, clubs and neighborhood groups. As well as providing our businesses with Fire extinguisher classes.

The Department also has a Juvenile Fire Setter program which partners with Schools, Law Enforcement and Families in our Protection District. The program focuses on the child to educate him/her in the dangers of fire setting or playing with fire. We can help provide additional resources to the family if needed.

The Department also has certified infant/child Safety Care Seat Technicians that can be contacted to schedule a Car seat installation.

The North Washington wellness program supplies the employees with a workout facility complete with weights, cardio and stretching equipment. As well as Peer Fitness Trainers to assist fellow employees with questions and different ideas for each individual workout and diet need.

The program has the support and is condoned by not only the Chief of the department but the IAFF and local physicians.

With the help from North Washington Fire Department, high school students affiliated with Explorers and the 9-5 Program completed 6 days of firefighter and EMS training. Training included: basic first aid and CPR, airway management, IV skills, vehicle extrication, use of fire extinguishers, propane fires, bunker gear, firefighter search, and use of SCBA’s.
