North Washington Technical Rescue
As an “all-risk” Fire and Rescue agency, the North Washington Fire Protection District is prepared to respond to all types of rescue situations.
Technical Rescue incidents are those which require specialized tools and training. Confined space, trench collapse, ice and swift water, high angle rope, industrial accidents, and building collapse are examples of technical rescue incidents.
North Washington’s technical rescue team consists of firefighters on all shifts who are trained in such techniques. Additionally, North Washington is a participating member of the North Area Technical Rescue Team (NATRT). The NATRT is a group of north area Fire Departments who train together and are available to assist each other in the event of a large scale technical rescue incident. NWFD Technical Rescue Team is associated with the North Area Technical Rescue Team encompassing the northern Denver metro area, Arvada, Brighton, Westminster, Federal Heights, and Thornton.
